Clearing and Settlement

Providing Settlement Assurance for trades dealt in equity securities listed on the JSE Ltd executed on JSE TradElect. The Division performs the role of the Settlement Authority as required by the Rules and Directivesin ensuring that trades dealt in equity securities listed on the JSE executed on TradElect are settled in accordance with the principles of T+5 rolling contractual settlement. A brief overview of the Clearing & Settlement Division’s functions include:- - Monitoring settlement
- Performing securities and money lending & borrowing as lender of last resort
- Rolling of Settlements
- Fails Trade Management procedures (give-ups)
- Monitor Bond settlements
