What is infowiz?
InfoWiz is the JSE's world class Live Public Data Delivery System.
InfoWiz (an equivalent of LMIL - London Market Information Link), is the result of a partnership with the London Stock Exchange (LSE), hence the actual system is housed at the LSE.
Connectivity to InfoWiz is achieved either linking directly to the LSE or via the JSE hub.
Live intraday indices data is broadcast out in BDG's (Broadcast Data Groups), using multicast technology.
To subscribe to Live Indices data, 2 generic interfaces are accessed namely:
- Broadcast interface (BI) - for bulk delivery of data to subscribers and,
- Interactive Request Interface (IRI) for re-requesting broadcasts.
2. Who may subscribe?
This live indices data is mainly subscribed to by parties such as Information Vendors, JSE members and Financial Institutions, who have signed the following JSE contracts:
JSA - JSE Services Agreement, (this agreement covers the connection and testing of the live services)
FIDA- FTSE/JSE Africa Index Series Information Distribution Agreement, (this agreement covers the subscription and usage of public data - Live Indices values - to view, print or download this document, go to Agreements and click on FIDA as well as Schedules to FIDA)
3. What type of data is available?
Live Index Values
There are 5 categories of Indices namely:
The FTSE/JSE Africa Headline Indices, disseminated intraday as follows:
Top40 - every 15 seconds
All Share - every 60 seconds
Mid Cap - every 60 seconds
Small Cap - every 60 seconds
Fledgling - once at the close of trading
The FTSE/JSE Africa Tradeable Indices, disseminated every 15 seconds
The FTSE/JSE Africa Sector Indices, the GOLD mining index is disseminated every 15 seconds, all other sector indices are disseminated every 60 seconds
The FTSE/JSE Africa Secondary Market Indices, disseminated once at the end of the trading
The FTSE/JSE Africa Specialist Indices, disseminated every 60 seconds

Delayed Equity and Indices Information:
The option to delay Live Indices is available. The delay permitted by the JSE is 15 minutes after the live data is broadcast. The JSE only offers connection to Live Indices, meaning that the client needs to delay the Live Indices in order to qualify for the reduced fees.

4. Availability of InfoWiz?
InfoWiz is available from 06h00 to 22h00 (SAST – South African Standard Time) every JSE business day.
Support by JSE Customer Support and Services Department is provided from 07h30 to 19h00 (SAST) on every JSE business day.
5. Hardware and software requirements?

2 serial ports and Lan port on Router

6. Who to contact for Live or Delayed data subscription?
To connect directly to the JSE or LSE, contact Information Product Sales via email on indexdata@jse.co.za. We will respond within 24 business hours of receipt of request.
Alternatively you may connect to a JSE Data Vendor. Signing a contract with the JSE for EOD data redistribution is still a prerequisite. To access a list of JSE Data Vendors, click here.
