Style

The FTSE/JSE Style indices went live in August 2004. The input from a large number of market players made this event possible, and their efforts are acknowledged and appreciated. These indices will give investors a new tool to enhance their portfolios’ performance with growth and value strategies.

The style series consists of a value and a growth index, both based on the FTSE Global style methodology. History from 2 January 2002 is available.

The construction of the style indices is explained in the Ground Rules (see Education, Ground Rules in the top menu).
A file with the constituents for the style indices with value and growth ranking on 13 August 2004 is attached to give an indication of value and growth companies.
