Johannesburg, 17 October 2014. A record number of 395 969 trades took place on the JSE’s Equity Market yesterday. The total value of these trades was just over R24,6 billion.

The new record is well above the previous intraday trade record of just under 300 000 trades on the JSE Equity Market. The average number of trades per day which took place in this market during 2014 is approximately 176 000.
