The interactive full-day course aims to help issuers reconcile regulatory requirements with financial communications objectives, while optimising their resources to do so. Adopting the press release structure and format will ensure they gain competitive edge in the global race for capital. This three-hour training programme course will focus on communicating on earnings and other major corporate events such as mergers and acquisitions, capital increase, and debt issuance. The goal is to ensure broad communication and cost-effective dissemination beyond the JSE’s distribution channel. Delegates will gain actionable knowledge from various South African and international examples. All are encouraged to bring their latest SENS announcements and media releases for advice, experience and idea-sharing.
Why should you attend
International best practice in corporate disclosure is reflected in a key principle of the JSE Listings Requirements which s is to ensure that full, equal and timeous public disclosure is made to all holders of securities and the general public regarding any price sensitive activities of an issuer. The JSE’s Stock Exchange News Service or SENS was established to ensure that relevant company information could be disseminated to the market on a real time basis. Yet, complying with this rule should not prevent issuers from adopting the writing style of a press release that will appeal to investors, analysts and the media, and is the universally accepted news communication format.
