Johannesburg – 11 August 2022 – The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is helping women to take control of their investment journeys by fearlessly building their financial prosperity at this year’s #JSESheInvests 5th annual conference.  The JSE is bringing together accomplished female entrepreneurs, experts and inspiring leaders in finance to empower and equip women to navigate opportunities with confidence including Mbali Nwoko, a multi-award-winning farmer, entrepreneur, columnist and podcaster; Nerina Visser, Director and co-owner at etfSA; Erica Bruce, Executive Director and Stockbroker in Control at Navigare; Jessica Maluleke from Easy Equities, and many others.

For the first time since the pandemic lockdowns, participants will be able to attend the conference in person on Saturday, 13 August, which will to be held at the JSE in Sandton.  There is also a virtual option for those who are unable to attend in person.

“Managing ones finances well is a fulfilling journey and #JSESheInvests aims to be an accessible platform for women to empower themselves and learn about smart financial decision-making,” says Vuyo Lee, Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the JSE.

Discussions at this year’s #JSESheInvests will unpack various investment opportunities along with other topics such as how to reach financial independence, trading strategies to achieve one’s goals, understanding crypto currencies and other practical ways for women to take charge of their financial futures.

“We encourage all women to join us and find out how they can develop or improve their personal financial goals through innovative and practical ideas from knowledgeable women who have successfully navigated their personal investment journey,” Lee explains.

Even though the economic climate is tough currently, efforts by the government, civil society and business are underway to further stabilise the economic environment to re-build investor trust. The time is, therefore, opportune for women in particular, to prioritise their financial goals.

Since most women make financial decisions in their households, speakers at the #JSESheInvests2022 conference will share information on how to prosper within the current financial climate by proactively tackling spending behaviours and reducing debt. This year’s theme of “Fearlessly owning the markets” is befitting as it seeks to encourage women and provide them with tools and knowledge to forge their way to financial independence.

Women across the country who want to achieve financial independence and build prosperity for themselves and future generations are encouraged to attend this hybrid event as the speakers will impart invaluable information in an informal and entertaining format.

“Our aim with the #JSESheInvests initiative is to ensure that women walk away with confidence and enthusiasm where financial decisions are concerned,” concludes Lee.
