Argent Industrial celebrates 20 Years since listing on the JSE
Johannesburg, 24 November 2014. Today Argent Industrial celebrated 20 years since listing on the JSE at a market open event held at the exchange. Argent originally listed on 24 November 1994 as Scharrig Industrial Holdings and changed its name to Argent Industrial Limited in 1999.
Argent began its life as a property holding company with additional steel and engineering operations. Among them was New Joules Engineering which moved to the United States and acquired a number of subsidiaries over the next twenty years. Today Argent has 26 subsidiaries operating throughout South Africa, the United States and United Kingdom with diversified manufacturing as the company's biggest activity.
The group attributes it success over the past two decades to characteristics like innovation, speed, delivery and service. "Argent has a bold approach to business and is always seeking new investments and investors. Our customers are the key to our success and so they enjoy our dedicated attention," the group said in a statement.
