An Overview of the New Simplified JSE LR – full day course 

On 12 December 2025, the JSE announced the FSCA’s approval of the so-called Simplification Project, which took effect from 13 January 2026.   

These changes are the most significant made by the JSE in a long time, resulting in a complete overhaul of the JSE Listings Requirements, with an entirely new set of Listings Requirements replacing the prior version. 

This course takes the attendees through the new Listings Requirements, chapter by chapter, ensuring a full grasp of not only the new structure of the Listings Requirements, but also the most important contents thereof. 

The course takes place over a full day and covers, inter alia, the following: 

  • General overview of the new structure of the simplified JSE Listings Requirements
  • The General Principles
  • The authority of the JSE, including censure and penalties
  • New listings, including dual listings
  • Sponsors and Designated Advisers
  • Corporate governance, including mandatory King Code requirements
  • Primary continuing obligations for listed companies and directors, including price sensitive information and the general disclosure requirement
  • Corporate actions, including equity capital raising and buy-backs
  • Transactions, including ordinary course and related party transactions
  • Pre-listing statements, revised listing particulars and circulars
  • Financial disclosure requirements
  • Approvals and documents to be submitted to the JSE
  • High level overview of the specific disclosures relating to:
  • Property entities o Mineral and oil/gas entities o Investment entities and SPACs

NB: These courses are also suitable for approved executives or budding approved executives needing to update their knowledge and understanding of the Listings Requirements.

CPD certificates will be issued for the attendance at the event.
