The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) last night celebrated the winners of the 24th Annual Spire Awards which recognise outstanding achievements in client service, innovative solutions and overall market contribution across the Bonds, Currency, Interest rates and Commodity derivatives markets.

Johannesburg, 20 March 2026 – The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) last night celebrated the winners of the 24th Annual Spire Awards which recognise outstanding achievements in client service, innovative solutions and overall market contribution across the Bonds, Currency, Interest rates and Commodity derivatives markets.

 

Voted for by the largest institutional investors, the awards recognise the most outstanding achievements and inspiring talents leading the dynamic landscape of South Africa’s capital markets. The awards reflect market sentiment as well as the institutions that have shown excellence and made a notable impact on the country’s financial markets.

 

This year, 42 awards were presented across a broad range of categories, including research, market making, sales and several other disciplines that reflect the depth and diversity of South Africa’s capital markets. Standard Bank won the flagship Best Fixed Income & Forex House award, the Best Research House and secured 12 awards in total. Absa CIB secured 8 awards including the Best Forex House award, while RMB won 7 awards including Best Interest Rate Derivative House and Best Bond House

 

“The Spire Awards remain a vital platform for acknowledging the dedication and innovation of our market participants,” said Thembi Mda-Maluleka, Head: Bonds, Currencies and Interest Rates Derivatives at the JSE. “By honouring excellence in client service and market contribution, these awards inspire new solutions that strengthen the robustness and sustainability of South Africa’s capital markets, and by extension, the broader economy.”
